The Brief
To produce a suite of programmes each to capture the distinctive brand qualities and values of Diageo's leading international brands such as Gordon's Gin, Archers and Smirnoff Vodka. The principal visual resources Diageo provided was the footage shot for their various worldwide TV & Cinema commercials.
The presentations had to be innovative and informative and provide an immersive experience for their visitors.
The Solution
Working with Diageo's agency 'Big Pink' Impact Image's motion graphics designers proposed a creative approach using multiple plasmas. We had previously pioneered both the technology and creative processes for Eurofighter GmbH's multiscreen system used as part of their Farnborough Air Show 2002 exhibition.
For this project, the software we choose to drive the images and playback called Watchout enabled us to produce a new and exciting series of images which cleverly utilised the existing footage within a composited animated graphical structure.
All 5 plasmas effectively became a huge single canvas enabling images to be played across all or any number of the screens. The controls for playback were configured to a touch screen system that even controlled the ambient and spot lighting in the visitor centre

Recognition came in the form of the prestigious AV installation of the year award for 2003 (AV magazine) for Big Pink.
